Your preteen and teenagers need to get vaccinated in between the age of 11 and 16 as well. When your child grows up the impact of vaccination on them starts to wear off, so in their teens they need a dose of certain vaccinations to boost their immunity.

Tdap Booster
Babies get several doses of the DTaP vaccination that keep them protected from diphtheria, tetanus, and Pertussis (Whooping Cough) but its effects wear off with the passage of time. To keep them protected, Tdap booster immunization shot should be given to them when they are at the age of 11 or 12.
Meningococcal Vaccine
Meningococcal is a rare but chronic disease. It causes inflammation of the nerves that covers brain and spinal cord. These infections are contagious and can spread through even by a cough. Your child should get it when they are 11-12 years but if you have missed it, consult pediatrician to ask the right time for the vaccination. By the age of 16 your child should get its shot.
HPV Vaccine
HPV strains can cause multiple cancers such as cervical cancer in women, throat cancer, penile cancer in men, and genital warts in both men and women. Over six months your child will get around three immunization shots to reduce the risk of multiple cancers.
Flu shots
Although people recover from flu but in some teens it can get severe and result into Pneumonia. Teens that have diabetes or diagnosed with Asthma should get these immunization shots yearly as they are more vulnerable to it than others. Always consult your doctor before getting a vaccination.

Even if your teenager has missed some vaccines as a kid, they can still catch up with it. After consulting a pediatrician they can get Vaccination for Chicken pox, Polio, Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps and Rubella. It’s never too late.
