The new rules and regulations that have been decided by the government will be effective immediately and will be followed until December 31st, 2020.
The government of Pakistan has recently issued the new standard operating procedures (SOPs) that will work against the COVID19 pandemic. These new rules will require all the travelers that are traveling in from the affected countries to undergo a mandatory PCR test, that too 94 hours before leaving for Pakistan. According to the report published by the Express Tribune, The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has rolled out the new orders that will come into form by Monday and remain until December 31.
According to the new strategy by the government, the incoming patients have been advised to undergo the COVID19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test at least 96 hours before departure for any airport in Pakistan. However, the passengers that are traveling from countries, where the pandemic has been under control for a while, will be exempted from this rule.
All the passengers that are traveling from the B category countries are strictly advised to carry their PCR test reports when landing on to any airport in Pakistan. The children that are under the age of 12 years, people with disabilities, and international delegations will be exempted from this testing rule.
The last time when passengers were advised to undergo this mandatory COVID19 tests was at the Karachi airport, back in July. These test results showed 123 passengers, coming from Dubai, had contracted COVID19.
As the doctors and healthcare workers are alarming us about the second wave, it is important to start following the precautionary measures as soon as we can.
