LAHORE October 9, 2020: According to the reports, The Punjab cabinet is planning another lockdown in with the coordination of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC). It is said that the decision for another lockdown is because of the slight increase in the positivity ratio or the COVID19 cases across Pakistan. The rising rate in the positive cases is a threat and it should be controlled before it reaches the peak again.
The NCOC says that the overall COVID19 situation remains stable but still the safety protocols need to be tightened in Punjab. The reason is that the citizens of Pakistan are nowhere near following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) provided by the government.
NCOC reports that people have stopped worrying about health guidelines on wearing masks, social distancing, and ‘no mask no service’ protocols.
“We are close to defeating coronavirus, however, people should exhibit responsibility and take the virus situation seriously.” Says an official at NCOC
As reported by the earlier news, Asad Umar emphasized on the importance of public safety and how the success of national anti-virus efforts so far should not be allowed to go waste.
NCOC is planning to review the present situation in depth and consequently formulate a plan to fight against COVID19. They’ll be working on public awareness campaign as per the orders of the cabinet meeting.
The latest news report says that Punjab has 100,272 confirmed COVID19 cases, 2,247 fatalities; of 124 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. COVID19 active cases on Thursday were recorded at 8,015 as 583 more people tested positive for the deadly virus over the last 24 hours.
