The Bhimbhar DC has given the order to extend winter vacations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir till January 15, 2024.
Punjab is still in the cloud of cold weather. Lahore and many other cities of Punjab are nevertheless struck by single-digit temperatures. On the other hand, students are enjoying winter break in their homes.
The winter holidays for all private and government educational institutions started on December 18, 2023, and were announced to end on January 1, 2023. And then, they were extended for 10 more days.
Rumors are spreading that the winter holidays might be extended in Lahore and other parts of the Punjab. Apart from these rumors, parents are also demanding the government to review schools opening due to extremely cold weather.
Due to extremely cold weather, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have extended winter holidays for all schools and educational institutions. Now, all the public and private schools will re-open on January 15.
On Thursday, the Bhimbhar Deputy Commissioner (DC) disseminated a notification about the extension of winter holidays in all private and government schools.
According to the notification, all educational institutions will remain closed till January 15, 2024.
The government said that the student’s health is of critical importance; therefore there will be no negligence related to the school closure.
