Believe it or not, Pets can prove to be great stress fighters. I remember while studying out of town and living on my own in a different city for at least six years I started to feel so depressed. It is then when a friend suggested me to keep a pet to get out of the feeling of depression and isolation. And guess what within few weeks, I got so busy and attached with my Persian cat (Mitzy was her name) that I got no time to think about problems.
I strongly believe that keeping a pet can have a positive impact on our lives and today I am here to share some incredible health benefits of keeping a pet that might convince you to keep Pets:
Stress Suppressant
Pets often times act as a stress suppressant in our lives. Petting your cat and dog can make you feel relax, and when your body is calm it produces relaxation hormone which ultimately lowers your blood pressure. When you see your pet relying on you, looking forward to you all the time you ultimately feel calm and stress stays away from you.
Boosts Self-Esteem
Yes! Looking after an animal can boost your self-esteem. Your pet completely relies on you, gives you a sense of belonging and you feel you are in charge and have a better control of your life. This feeling ultimately boosts your self-esteem.
Social Attention
Keeping a pet can help you grab social attention. Pets help you connect with other people easily especially to those who have kept pets too. This feeling of being a caretaker of someone especially of an animal grabs a lot of attention in our society.
Babies Health
Research has found out that earlier contact of kids with pets make them less likely to suffer from allergies and asthma. Encounter of a pet with a baby can be done when the baby is even a few months old, Earlier the better. Kids who are raised among pets usually have strong immune systems and are less likely to suffer from Eczema.
So what are you waiting for? Go get a pet for yourself and live a happy life to the fullest. Pets are not that demanding.
