Health is wealth, and this is a statement that has never been proven to be false to this day. This fundamental human right is necessary for a country to prosper. We’ve noticed for a long time that every Government has promised to meet the basic needs of the Pakistani people, particularly in terms of health and education. Good news is that the Government has taken the initiative to help the poor by providing health care facilities throughout the country by initiating Sehat Sahulat Program.
The health budget in developing countries is viewed as an investment rather than a cost. If we look at the system in other developed countries, we can see that every developed country has ensured that everyone has access to healthcare through a health insurance system, with the costs borne by the government or social security departments.
Unfortunately, the situation in Pakistan is quite different, as people prefer to stay sick even if it means death, all because medical treatment for any disease is so expensive that no one can afford it. This initiative of health cards, on the other hand, maybe beneficial in this regard.
How to Get Sehat Insaf Card?
Here is an easy guide for you to get your Sehat Insaaf Card:
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
The first step is to check your eligibility according to the eligibility criteria. This can be done by sending your National Identity Card Number (CNIC number) to 8500 via SMS.
Step 2: Get Your Card From Distributor
Each district has a card distributor center. After you have been declared eligible, visit the Sehat Insaf Card distribution center in your district and get your card.
Step 3: Gather the Required Documents
The next step is to gather the required information and documents. Not all hospitals are on the health panel of Sehat Sahulat, so determine those that are empaneled. Whenever you visit the empaneled private or public hospitals for your treatment, take the following documents with you:
- Sehat Insaf Card
- Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
- B-form, in case of a child’s (under 18) treatment
Step 4: Get Your Card Verified
Now is the time to get your treatment. You may approach the dedicated Sehat Sahulat Program representative counter for further assistance after arriving at the empaneled hospital. The SSP personnel will check your Sehat Insaf card and direct you to the appropriate hospital department for treatment.
Step 5: Get Treatment
You will get your treatment free of cost. The cost of treatment will be deducted from the Sehat Insaf card once the patient has been admitted to the hospital. However, this service is only available if a patient requires hospitalization.
Step 6: Give Feedback
This is the most crucial step; giving honest feedback. To give your feedback or register a complaint, contact Sehat Sahulat Representative at 0800-09009. You will also be contacted by SSP staff to provide feedback on the experience and treatment you received. You can also use the website’s feedback form to send your comments or complaints.
