Whenever we are upset, we think of a lot of things which can help us reduce the stress. For some people, just eating a pack of cookies works well while for some going out with friends helps in the best way. But believe me; whenever your stress level hit new heights nothing could be more effective than yoga. Yes! That’s true. Yoga can be an effective way to clear your mind while giving your body the attention it deserves. According to many studies, yoga can promote overall health and well-being in many ways. So, if you’re having rough days and you can’t take off your mind from something disturbing, then spare some time and try these 3 yoga poses to help relieve your stress.
1.Standing Forward Bend (Uttanasana):
This yoga pose help quite the busy and disturbed mind, balance the nervous system and promote feelings of calmness and peace. To make this pose keep your toes tucked under and put your hands on the floor next to your knees. Lift your knees up so you’re standing on the soles of your feet, bent your upper body towards the floor. Take hold of each elbow with the opposite hand, relax your head, and hold for a few breaths.
2.Thunderbolt Pose (Varjasana):
Kneel on your mat and back on the heels. If you want to make it more comfortable then you place a cushion between the sit-bones. Maintain the length of the spine and cross your hands in front of the chest. Place your palms at underarms and thumbs point out in the front. Stay at his pose for at least 10 breaths and feel as all your worries and stress is exhaling with your breaths.
3.Child’s Pose (Balasana):
The soothing child’s pose help put the mind at ease and slow the disturbed mind down. It is also very easy to do; you just have to sit down with your legs folded beneath you. Make sure, your toes touching and knees spread apart from each other. Now, bend your chest over your thighs and bring your forehead to the floor. You can extend your arms in front of you or simply rest them by your side. Take deep breaths and rest in the pose as long as you desire.
All of these 3 poses require you to concentrate and focus the mind at a single point, which is an excellent stress management tool. So, keep that thing in mind. And anyway once you start practicing these poses, you will get an incredibly calming effect on your mind and the body.
