According to the National Institutes of Health, 16 novel Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours in Pakistan. The statistics were issued, according to which the country’s case positivity ratio remained at 0.44%. The condition of 14 patients was found critical. Meanwhile, zero mortality rate due to the virus was reported.
It is declared that in the last 24 hours, 3,637 people were tested for the virus. Out of this figure, 223 tests were conducted in Faisalabad. One person was Covid positive, and the Corona positivity ratio remained at 0.45%.
Similarly, in Lahore, 791 people were tested for the virus, and one person showed positive results. With this, the Covid positivity remained at 0.13%. In Islamabad, 300 tests were carried out; fortunately, no Covid positive case was found.
On this occasion, Abdul Qadir Patel, Minister of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, assured that the Government is playing a crucial role in providing top-notch health facilities amidst the new sub-variant of Coronavirus.
He also said that surveillance systems are installed at all the country’s entry points. In particular, these entry points include the airports. He added that the Covid tests of the passengers would be conducted at all country airports.
He also reassured the nation that the Covid-19 situation is under control. He advised the people not to pay heed to the rumors of the worsening corona situation. Furthermore, he declared that at the current moment, the positivity ratio of the virus is just 0.3%-0.5% in the country.
He added that 90% of the country’s population is already vaccinated, and National Health Services, Pakistan is implementing International Health Regulations. Moreover, he said that the state’s health sector is prepared to deal with any sub-variant, including BF.7 of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
